On August 12, 1900, the famous sniper Semyon Nomokonov was born.
Personal business
Semyon Danilovich Nomokonov (1900-1973) was born in the village of Delyun in Transbaikalia in a family of hereditary hunters of the Khamnigan Tungus. He spent all his childhood in the taiga, at the age of seven he picked up a gun, and for 10 years he was considered a real hunter and had the nickname "The Eye of the Korshun."
At the age of 15 he was baptized. At baptism, he received the name Semyon. In 1928 he settled in the village of Nizhny Stan (now the Tungokochensky district), where he joined the commune of the "Dawn of a New Life", and then to the state farm. He worked as a carpenter, continued to hunt. At the age of 19 he married. One after another, five sons and a daughter were born in a family. But the whole family was carried away overnight to the grave of Scarlatin. Nomokonov at that time was in the craft and learned about the tragedy only upon returning home. Miraculously, only the youngest of his sons, Vladimir, survived.
After the death of the Nomokon family, he married again. The second wife of Martha Vasilievna gave birth to him 6 sons and 2 daughters.
In August 1941, Nomokonov was drafted into the Red Army and sent to the front. At first, a middle -aged, illiterate and did not have a military specialty, the fighter fulfilled various economic instructions, was a nurse on the Kalinin Front, but very soon he showed himself as a well -aimed shooter. On one of the autumn days of 1941, picking up the next wounded man on the battlefield, Nomokonov saw how the German was aiming in their direction. With an instant reaction of a taiga hunter, he threw up a rifle and shot, hitting a target. In the evening, the units only said that about the mark of the shot of the orderly. When the information reached the command, the seeds were enrolled in a sniper platoon. Thus began his path to the glory of the sniper.
At first, his personal weapon was the usual three -line Mosin rifle even without an optical sight. Nomokonov appeared with an optical sight only in the winter of 1942 and he went through the whole war with her. The sniper hit the enemy from it with 300, 500 meters and even a kilometer.
Hunting skills were very useful to Evenk in the war. Even his equipment was similar to the hunting. Nomokonov had a whole arsenal of various devices: he used a variety of ropes, laces, horns, fragments of mirrors. The shoes were woven from horse hair, which allowed to move completely silently.
Sometimes Nomokonov did not leave the “Sidka”, as he called the place of shelter, for two to three days.
One of these ambushes took place later, which later became the famous duel with a German sniper. They hunted one after another. Lieutenant Colonel A. Danilov describes this duel like this: “Semyon hid in a echoor lobby, where, it would seem, and the mouse can be noticeable. In a nearby tomb, he attached a charged rifle and handed a black lace from it to him. But the enemy sniper did not show signs of life. By the end of the 2nd day, at the sunset of the day, it seemed to Nomokonov that the board suddenly stirred in the sheathing of the attic of an empty house. At night, he got to the trench, aimed the rifle on the attic and returned to his shelter. When morning came, Semyon noticed a barely visible gap where, according to his assumptions, the enemy was hiding. He took her on the fly, and he pulled it by the lace. The spare rifle fired from the trench, and then the bullet hit the trench from the attic.
“Everything is clear,” Nomokonov said to himself, and at the same instant the trigger lowered. The fascist fell to the ground. "
Nomokonov went through the whole war. He fought at the Valdai heights, Karelian Isthmus, Ukraine, in Lithuania, East Prussia, and then during the Soviet-Japanese war in Manchuria. Served in 5 fronts, 2 divisions, 6 regiments.
He finished the battle path with the spurs of the Great Hingan after the victory over Japan. Nomokonov received his last military award here, as well as gifts from the command of the division “For special differences at the front” - a horse, binoculars and a rifle No. 24638. After demobilization, he went home on a wagon made with his own hands.
After the war, he returned to his native state farm. Having retired, in the mid-1960s he moved to the village of Zugalai, Mogoytuysky district of the Aginsky Buryat Autonomous Okrug, where he worked on the collective farm named after V.I. Lenin.
