In Blagoveshchensk, an emergency mode has been announced: the city floods with rains

In the administrative center of the Amur Region Blagoveshchensk, an emergency regime was introduced after heavy rain, flooding part of the city on Sunday night. Precipitation will continue, weather forecasters warned.

Interfax, citing the press service of the city administration, reports that on Sunday night in Blagoveshchensk 30 mm precipitation fell in 58 minutes. Some of the city districts were de -energized.

"Due to the significant amount of precipitation that fell into a short period of time and exceeding the calculated capacity of storm sewers, flooding of the carriageway was observed on some sections of the city street network," the statement said.

After the precipitation and a decrease in water support in a storm sewer, the water began to leave the roadway. However, according to weather forecasts, in the afternoon, strong rains are expected in Blagoveshchensk.

City services are working on water pumping in certain areas - Lenin -Pushkin, 50 -year of October - Textile, Ignatievskoye Shosse between Student and Kantimirov, Tchaikovsky in the Shipyra region.

Due to the thunderstorm and falling of the branches, electricity was turned off in the areas of the village of Sadovoye, Belogorye, Astrakhanovka, poultry farms, Nagornaya Streets. By the morning of Sunday, power supply was restored to 80% of houses. Work is underway to restore electricity supply to other consumers.
