
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Serbia, Macedonia and Greece can sign a memorandum of the construction of the Tesla gas pipeline from Turkey to Austria, write Vedomosti with reference to one of the project participants.
According to the representative of the Hungarian gas company FGSZ, which will be responsible for the pipe on the territory of Hungary, at the meeting scheduled for September, it is planned to decide on the preparation of a technical and economic justification.
According to the publication, the corresponding project has already been submitted to the European network of systems of gas transmission (ENTSOG) to obtain the status of a project of public interest. The representative of ENTSOG confirmed this information.
The Tesla gas pipeline, the capacity of which will be 27 billion cubic meters, and the length of 1300-1400 kilometers can be launched in 2019. The cost of the project is preliminarily estimated at € 4-5 billion. "Vedomosti" clarifies that the final investment decision is planned to be made in the first quarter of 2016, and start construction in the first quarter of 2017.
From the territory of Greece, a challenge can also be built to Italy, then the power of the Greek section of the pipe will be 42 billion cubic meters. A person close to the Greek side of negotiations confirms the interest of Athens in the extension of the “Turkish stream” before Italy.
Gazprom planned the construction of four Turkish stream threads with a capacity of 63 billion cubic meters, the first of which is intended for deliveries to Turkey, the rest to Europe. On July 30, it became known that Moscow and Ankara suspended negotiations on this project. Negotiations with Turkey can end in the fall, when the process of government formation is completed in the country.
