Representatives of Roskomnadzor are surprised by the reaction of Wikipedia administrators to the requirement to delete the article from the site. This was reported on the official page of the department on the social network "VKontakte".

According to representatives of Roskomnadzor, with its reluctance to remove an article about the methods of preparing drugs, the administration puts under attack the interests of numerous users of the Russian -speaking version of the site. They recalled that Wikipedia operates on the basis of the HTTPS protocol, which does not allow restrictions on access to individual pages, therefore, when accessing access to one article blocked, the whole resource will turn out to be blocked.

On the eve of Roskomnadzor threatened Wikipedia with a complete blocking if it does not remove the article on the drugs of Charas.

On June 25, the article was banned by the Chernoyarsky District Court of the Astrakhan Region at the suit of the prosecutor's office. It stated that Wikipedia "posted textual information demonstrating the method of preparing the drug -containing substance" Charas ", as well as its components and dosage. One of the components of the substance, the manufacture of which is described in detail, is the Konople plant, which includes cannabis (marijuana), included in the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of June 30, 1998 No. 681, the list of narcotic drugs, the list of narcotic drugs, the list psychotropic substances and their precursors, the circulation of which in the Russian Federation is prohibited. Roskomnadzor sent a notification of the court decision to the Wikipedia administration. Since the encyclopedia operates on the basis of the HTTPS protocol, which does not allow restrictions on access to individual pages, in case of refusal to remove the article blocked, the whole resource will be blocked, the department emphasizes.

"We are convinced that the owners and administrators of the Internet resource will take a constructive and only sure position in relation to the court decision, and the illegitimate content will be removed," the Roskomnadzor said.

They will not delete an article about Charas, said the director of the non -profit partnership of Vikimedia RU, Vladimir Mediko, in an interview with the radio station, says Moscow. "The community looked at this article, it was rewritten so that it relies on reliable sources. What will happen next - at the discretion of Roskomnadzor. If it considers that there is no more reasons for blocking, then it will not be blocked. And if it considers that nothing has changed radically, this page will be blocked and the whole" Wikipdia ". This is the first time that the Wikipedia material intends to block by court decision. However, earlier, with the requirement to block individual pages of the online encyclopedia, FSKN and Rospotrebnadzor have repeatedly performed. For example, articles on suicide and smoking Cannabis were included in the register of prohibited information. The first of them was edited several times by the community and, in the end, was excluded from the "black list", and the second was removed from the site.

In January, the deputy head of Rosobrnadzor, Alexander Biserov, called for the ban on Wikipedia in Russia .

“Personally my opinion, and I have repeatedly expressed it, I would forbade Wikipedia. I would have put a censorship on it simply. Because the number of errors that it contains,” Biserov told reporters.

Later, the department asked not to perceive this statement seriously. The representative told the Russian News Service that it was a joke. “This statement should not be paid any attention. It was said in a joke, with irony, so there is no need to respond to this,” said the Rosobrnadzor press center.
