
The Mediated Matter research group, together with the glass laboratory of the Massachusetts Technological University and the Vissa Institute, has developed a 3D printer that allows you to print hot glass, reports N+1 .
The printer, called the G3DP, uses the technology of modeling by layer -by -layer. A transparent glass is loaded into the upper bunker of the printer, which then heats up to a temperature of more than 1000 degrees Celsius and goes into a liquid state, after which the printer begins the work.

N+1 notes that the prototype of the 3D printer, also printing glass, was introduced to the Israeli company Micron 3DP in June.
