Iskander was born in Kazakhstan. Salome lived in California for 22 years, until she decided to return to her homeland. They met in Moscow and created a duet. COLTA. RU represents their debut album of six glorious Russian-English songs, where there are psychedelic dancing in the sands and passionate purchases around the fire in the steppe.
Iskander and Salome talked about themselves about how they make music in 10 photos.

Iskander and Salome: sounds constantly inside us. Our hearts knock without stopping while we are alive; It is worth our blood to warm up a little - and we are ready to beat the drum or dance. We (people, that is) are unusually rhythmic. In order to recall this, it is enough just to breathe evenly and think that there is only this second, you are the sky. Well, or you can go to the techno-VEMA.

Iskander: Having arrived from Kazakhstan to Moscow, I took a guitar with me, and on any friendly gatherings in dormitories and apartments I was so singing with an endless repertoire of the songs loved by all. Only after the university I began to somehow express myself-in a group, alone. Then we met: Salome after 22 years of life in California decided to return to her native Moscow, which she left with her family in the distant 91st. We met, and it became clear - we need to make music.

Salome: In early childhood, music was accompanied by severe control for me: my Russian intelligent mother carefully recreated her Moscow musical education in an unfamiliar California suburb, even found a strict Russian piano teacher. Only when, in adolescence, I rebelled against all kinds of contests and long painful hours for the piano and instead of starting a “jamat” with friends, inventing a crazy psychodel, the world (or universe?) Music, which I have not parted with.

Iskander and Salome: our improvisations sometimes turn into real excursions in the musical genres of the world: from somewhere in the air there is a cheerful folk chin, the melody takes a turn, the pop-punk begins under the Bitbox, and at the right time, the Radio-Had comes in. Turning off the brain, you become a transmitter of cultural baggage, who has accumulated your subconscious: music from the player, favorite films and clips. And then this finds an exit outside the sound: we began to perform in different formats, experiment, give special musical and theater performances.

Iskander and Salome: sometimes it seems that the most significant stage in creativity, creative is not the birth of ideas, but a rejection of them. There is always a moment of choice and analysis: you need to part with an obsessive motive, take away the songs for the concert and admit to yourself that that venture crawled along the stage on all fours was not so tagged. It is necessary to choose a minute segment from the recording of a half -hour improvisation, from which an integral song will result in.

Iskander and Salome: Silence! This is zero size: the song begins with silence, but it ends with silence. Silence swinging a sound wave and lulls us like babies. This is a balance, balancing energy, the pinnacle of our music, calm, peace; What we strive for, and what we want to leave the viewer (listener) with.

Iskander and Salome: A voice suddenly breaks out. A reckless, meaningless set of sounds, vibration, filled with pure emotion, pierced by beauty. Singing is a natural need of a person, a way to survive and express what is happening around and inside. Everyone who has a voice can sing.

Iskander and Salome: singing is organized in a melody, melody into harmony. Words consist of sounds and rhymes, write and gain the meaning of the purchases. The diaphragm finds the necessary notes, the muscles of the fingers remember and reproduce chords and parties, the synthesizer distorts the sound wave and leads it to the desired form.

Iskander and Salome: there is some kind of magic that appears in the process and combines ideas, efforts and knowledge into music. This magic cannot be controlled, it can only open, weaken the grip and not try to control every note; play. Because the musician is rather a conductor than a source.

Iskander and Salome: what happened ultimately-our first entry seems to be something static, which was done at some point and now lies with a stone somewhere in the outside world. But in fact, she is alive, not unconditional. Someone listens to it, worries in its own way and thereby endowing with additional vital energy. It evolves on the Internet in sleeping mode, in your ears, in someone’s retelling, in some kind of car. And now it will remain forever somewhere in electric clouds and in someone’s mind; Like everything that a person invents and does.
The album was released on the Moscow Label Powerhouse Records , which is engaged in the support of young musicians
