In Rostov-on-Don, the collegium of the North Caucasus District Military Court as part of Sergei Mikhaylyuk (presiding), Vyacheslav Korsakov and Eduard Korobenko sentenced the Crimean prisoners of Oleg Sentsov and Alexander Kolchenko to 20 years and 10 years of strict regime, respectively. This was reported by the correspondent of "faces" from the courtroom.
The judges were sentenced to the Politsyki by partial addition to the deadlines for each of the incriminated charges. The 39 -year -old film director and activist of Avtomaidan Sentsov was given 15 years under part 1 of article 205.4 (organization of the terrorist community), 10 and 11 years in two episodes qualified under paragraph 2 of Article 205 (a terrorist attack organized by a group), 7 years under part 1 of Article 30 - paragraph 2 of Article 205 (preparation for the terrorist attack in an organized organized groups) and 5 years - in part 3 of article 222 (illegal turnover of weapons and explosives committed by an organized group).
The college announced proven that Sentsov led the sabotage and terrorist group of the "Right Sector", which is assigned the arson of the headquarters of the "Russian community of Crimea" and "United Russia" in Simferopol, as well as the preparation of the explosion in the Crimean capital at the monument to Lenin.
Sentsov himself did not admit his guilt.
The 25 -year -old left activist Kolchenko was given 6 years in part 2 of article 205.4 (participation in the terrorist community) and 8 years - according to paragraph "A" of part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code. He was found guilty of arson of the Simferopol headquarters of United Russia. Kolchenko confirmed the participation in this action, but categorically did not agree with the qualification of it as a terrorist attack, and also rejected the prosecution under article 205.4.
The accusation in the process was supported by the prosecutor Oleg Tkachenko. Sentsov’s interests were represented by lawyers Dmitry Dinze and Vladimir Samokhin, the interests of Kolchenko - Svetlana Sidorkina.

Hearing on the merits has been held since mid -July. On August 19, the prosecutor Tkachenko demanded for Sentsov 23 years of strict regime and two years of restriction of freedom after serving the deadline, for Kolchenko - 12 years of strict regime and a year and a half of restriction of freedom.
At the same time, the Crimean prisoner Gennady Afanasyev, who previously testified to Sentsov and Kolchenko and convicted in a special order on the same episodes, on the current process, acting as a witness, abandoned these testimonies and explained that he gave them after torture.
Sentsov himself, speaking in April at the trial of the next extension of the arrest, said that the period of 20 years of the colony of the FSB promised him immediately after the abduction in May 2014.
Over 100 journalists from Russia and foreign countries, including Ukraine, were accredited to announce the sentence. “For the court, this is an unprecedented number of journalists,” TASS quoted the words of the press secretary of the institution Alena Katkalo. “The verdict will be announced in the largest hall.” Also at the meeting was the Genconsul of Ukraine in Rostov Vitaly Moskalenko.
As Ukrainian Pravda reports , during the announcement of the sentence, the Russian Embassy in Kiev was a picket with a demand to free Sentsov and Kolchenko. The action was organized by the Civil Committee of Solidarity with Ukraine, the Our Choice Foundation, the Society for Free Russia and Amnesty International.

The head of the presidential administration, Sergei Ivanov, speaking later on Tuesday to journalists, in response to the question of the sentence Sentsov refused to comment. “I will never comment on sentences. This is a question of court and justice - a separate branch of power,” the official “Rain” reports . Ivanov noticed that he had heard "about some kind of sentence." However, the official continued, in Russia tens of thousands of sentences are announced daily and he does not follow them.
