By order of Rospotrebnadzor, Russian stores began to withdraw cleaning and detergents of foreign companies from the sale, Kommersantreports . It is argued that, according to the results of laboratory tests, part of the product does not correspond to some safety indicators.

According to the publication, Rospotrebnadzor has complaints about the quality of some products of Henkel, Colgate-Palmolive, Procter & Gamble, Werner & Mertz GmbH, The Clorox Company and others. Some brands of washing powders, dishwashing products, and air conditioners were suspicious. On August 19, the department of the department in the Moscow region demanded that retailers take measures to identify the indicated products with its subsequent withdrawal from the turnover "in order to prevent harm to the life and health of citizens." The receipt of the letter to Kommersant was confirmed by Auchan, Metro Cash & Carry, X5 Retail Group (Pyaterochka, Crossroads and Carousel).

Part of the products rejected by Rospotrebnadzor are produced at Russian factories of companies, some are imported. The Auchan and Metro noted that the share of goods removed from the shelves in their categories "insignificant".

The volume of the market for cleaning funds in Russia last year in retail prices was estimated at 103.7 billion rubles. Foreign companies in the Russian market of washing powders and cleaners occupy about 75 percent.

More than a year ago, Russia was banning the import of food from countries that have adopted sanctions in connection with Russian aggression against Ukraine. On August 6, the destruction of products from countries began to be applied to the Russian food embargo, in accordance with the Decree of Vladimir Putin of July 29 .

At the same time, Rospotrebnadzor and Rosselkhoznadzor regularly require prohibiting the import of various products under the pretext of inconsistencies with Russian requirements. In particular, the supply of flowers, fish canned food and other products from Europe was limited.
