The North Caucasus District Military Court today found director Oleg Sentsov guilty of the charges and sentenced him to 15 years in prison under the article on creating a terrorist community (part 1 of article 205.4 of the Criminal Code), for participation in two terrorist attacks (clause “a” of part 2 of the article 205 of the Criminal Code) - to 10 and 11 years, for preparing to commit two terrorist acts (Part 1 of Article 30 and paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code) - to 7 years in prison, for illegal trafficking in weapons and explosives (Part 3 Article 222 of the Criminal Code) - by 5 years. In total, by adding up the terms of his sentence, Oleg Sentsov received 20 years in prison to be served in a maximum security colony.
The second participant in the trial of the “Crimean terrorists,” Alexander Kolchenko, was also found guilty by the court. For participation in a terrorist community, he was sentenced to 6 years, for committing a terrorist act - to 8 years in prison, in total, by adding up the sentences, the anti-fascist was sentenced to 10 years in prison, also in maximum security colony.
Let us recall that earlier during the debate between the parties, prosecutor Oleg Tkachenko asked the North Caucasus District Military Court to sentence Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov to 23 years in prison, anti-fascist Alexander Kolchenko to 12 years in prison.
