Amnesty International called the trial of Sentsov "unfair"

The verdict in Rostov-on-Don caused the indignation of human rights activists

The international human rights organization Amnesty International made a statement in connection with the conviction of Oleg Sentsov to 20 years and Alexander Kolchenko - for 10 years in prison. Huge prison terms were the result of an unfair trial, the Amnesty International statement said. Human rights activists claim that there is reliable information about the use of torture to Sentsov and Kolchenko. It is reported by Ukrainian Pravda .

The press secretary of the Amnesty International branch in Ukraine, Bogdan Ovcharuk, who was present at the court hearings, said that the process was used by Russian propaganda against Ukraine and was similar to the demonstrative processes of the Stalin era.

Ovcharuk expressed the belief that the accusations of “terrorism” should be removed, and Sentsov and Kolchenko should either be released or appear before a fair civil court.

The US Ambassador to Ukraine John Payatt decisively condemned the process in the case of Sentsov and Kolchenko, calling him a "judicial farce".
