Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, at a meeting in Vladivostok on Wednesday, August 26, criticized officials for using foreign Internet services Google, Yahoo and WhatsApp and demanded that measures be taken to solve this problem, TASS reports .

According to Patrushev, the use of foreign resources by officials to resolve official issues poses a serious danger. He noted that such foreign services were used, in particular, by officials in the Khabarovsk Territory.

“This is a systemic issue for all of Russia, but in the Far East it is especially acute,” said the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, asking the regional governors of the Far Eastern Federal District to take action.

He emphasized the need to improve the information security system, Interfax reports . According to Patrushev, experts are recording a noticeable increase in the number of computer attacks on information and telecommunication networks and information systems of government agencies.

“At the same time, the presence of foreign technical intelligence software in information systems is noted,” Patrushev said.

A visiting meeting of the Secretary of the Russian Security Council with regional governors of the Far Eastern Federal District and representatives of federal ministries and departments is being held in Vladivostok on Wednesday. The meeting is dedicated to the issues of information security in information systems of state authorities and local governments.

Patrushev demanded that officials be banned from using Google and WhatsApp
