The authors of the series "carefully emphasize the fiction of the plot," the embassy recognizes in its statement, however, "Russia, unfortunately, is assigned the role of the aggressor." “It is certainly a pity that in the year of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Second World War, the authors of the series, as if forgetting the heroic contribution of the Soviet Army to the liberation of North Norway from the Nazi invaders, decided to in the worst traditions of the Cold War to be in the worst tradition of the Norwegian audience with a non-existent threat from the East,” the document emphasizes.

At the same time, the embassy assured that the reaction of the Russian Foreign Ministry to the exit of the series would be restrained and "no hysteria from the Russian side should be expected in this regard."

Work on the script began in January 2013, that is, more than a year before the annexation of Crimea. “In the past (2014 - ed.) Meanwhile, Marianna Gray, the head of the Yellow Bird, who acted as the producer of the series, reported that half a month before the start of filming she visited the Russian embassy. “We decided to act with diplomatic methods,” Gray said. “We explained to them the idea of ​​the project. They were only interested in one thing - whether they were talking about the military occupation. We told them that at this stage we were talking about peaceful economic occupation. They smiled in response.”
