Seva Novgorodtsev leaves BBC

On September 4, the radio host of Seva Novgorodtsev will last the air of the Russian BBC service for the last time.

The Russian service reported this today, August 28, on its Facebook.

“For us, this is a sad event: an entire era ends in the history of the“ Russian BBC service ”, Seva leaves us,” the report said.

Seva Novgorodtsev began to work on BBC in 1977, for many years his “Program of pop music from London” (since 1991-“Rock-Posevs”) was one of the few sources of information about Western pop music for residents of the USSR.

Seva Novgorodtsev also led on the BBC programs “Sevo” and “Bibisev”, starred in films, wrote several books. In 2005 he was awarded the Order of the British Empire.
