In the next 20 years of growth in foreign exchange earnings from energy exports, you should not expect. According to Vedomosti, such a forecast is contained in the Russian energy strategy until 2035. The document was prepared by the Ministry of Energy.
The strategy states that by 2035, most countries will develop non -aggravated energy sources and non -traditional types of fuel, which narrows the market niches for Russia. Hydrocarbon exports in the European direction will not grow due to limited demand, and in Asian-due to infrastructure insufficiency.
The competitive advantages that arose during the devaluation of the ruble will not help. It follows from the document that they will disappear in several years due to the high cost of capital and limited access to external investments and technologies.
The Ministry of Energy calls for state support for independent small and medium oil companies. Their role will grow after 2020, since the structure of hydrocarbons will deteriorate, a greater innovative activity, the effectiveness of capital costs and flexibility to changes in the conjuncture will be needed.
Among the threats in the strategy, the shale revolution in the USA is indicated, as well as renewable energy, the rate on which is being made in Europe. Among future threats, gas hydrates are mentioned, which can lead to the redistribution of world flows of raw materials.
