Savchenko's lawyer allowed her exchange for Erofeev and Alexandrov

The lawyer of the Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko, Nikolay Polozov, said that he admits the possibility of her exchange for the Russians Yevgeny Erofeev and Alexander Aleksandrovana detained in the Donbass after the verdict is passed, reports . Interfax

According to Polozov, dialogue between the Russian and Ukrainian sides is possible only on the basis of the results of court hearings. The lawyer suggested that after that Savchenko could serve his sentence in Ukraine, and Erofeev and Aleksandrov in Russia.

“Of course, it was possible not to wait for the verdicts, but I think that some political negotiations should have been held for this,” Polozov said.

Also today, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasily Hrytsak, did not rule out the exchange of detainees. “After the trial, a decision will be made about their [Erofeev and Aleksandrov] future fate. As for a possible exchange, I do not exclude such a possibility, but this is beyond my competence, ” the agency quotes him.

The day before, Kiev completed an investigation into the Russians Erofeev and Aleksandrov. They are suspected of violating several articles of the criminal code of Ukraine: waging an aggressive war, illegal border crossing, illegal movement of weapons and ammunition, illegal carrying of weapons and "illegal entry into the occupied territories."

Captain Erofeev and Sergeant Aleksandrov were detained in May near the village of Shchastia in the Luhansk region. During interrogations, they identified themselves as acting Russian servicemen. In turn, the Russian Ministry of Defense claims that Yerofeev and Aleksandrov retired from the armed forces.

The case of Nadezhda Savchenko is considered by the city court of Donetsk, Rostov region. A Ukrainian woman is accused of killing Russian journalists of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company in the Luhansk region. The investigation believes that she corrected the fire on the territory where the journalists were. Savchenko does not admit his guilt.
