
The American company Apple refused to transfer to accounts in Sberbank to pay for Russian application developers for OS X and iOS operating systems. Thiswas reported by Vedomosti with reference to the letter of the company.
"The bank I have indicated in ITUNES Connect fell under the direct action of restrictions. As a result, we are forced to suspend any payments until you indicate an account with a bank that restrictions do not apply," the Apple reports to Russian developers.
In January, Apple closed for residents of Crimea access to the App Store online store. According to RBC, when trying to go to the store from smartphones and tablets, Crimeans see the inscription: "Buying is inaccessible in your region in accordance with the regulations No. 1351/2014 of the European Council and the executive order No. 13658 of the US President." It was these documents that imposed sanctions against Crimea.
In addition, Apple unilaterally broke out cooperation agreements with Crimean software developers ahead of schedule. The company also deleted applications created by residents of Crimea from the App Store.
September 12 last year, US authorities have imposed new sanctions against Russia in connection with the situation in Ukraine. The new sanctions list included Sberbank, the Bank of Moscow, Gazprombank, Rosselkhozbank, VEB and VTB.
At the end of July, the Rosselkhozbank, Gazprombank, Sberbank, VTB and VEB fell under the sanctions of the European Union, which forbade citizens and EU companies to buy or sell new shares, bonds or “similar financial instruments” with the deadline for more than 90 days.
On the same day, the EU authorities unveiled a new package of sanctions against Russia. The list of restrictions for Russian banks that fell under the EU sanctions back in July 2014 was significantly expanded. EU residents are prohibited from providing Sberbank investment services, in addition, they cannot perform operations with new issues of bonds and other securities with circulation terms of more than 30 days.
