Rosatom sells its uranium mine Honeymoon in the northern part of South Australia of the Australian company Boss Resources, according to the official website of the company.
It is planned that the transaction will end within three months, after which BOSS will become the owner of 80% of the shares, and the private company Wattle Mining PTY LTD is 20%. Later, Boss will be able to redeem the remaining 20% and become the sole owner of the mine.
The comprehensive ransom of the HoneyMoon shares with BOSS includes several stages: first the company will pay $ 2.4 million, then several phased payments will be made if the mine will start production again.
Honeymoon is one of the five uranium mines in Australia and since June 2010 is owned by the Canadian company Uranium One Inc, controlled by the "Rosatoy".
In August 2014, Australia, in connection with the situation in Ukraine, imposed sanctions on Russia, stopping the sale of Uranus. In the meantime, Rosatom, meanwhile, stated that Russia has not purchased uranium from Australia since 2012.
