The Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation is negotiating with the Cinema Academies of the BRICS countries on the creation of the Eurasian Film Academy and the Eurasian Oscar institution - awards similar to the American Film Academy.

This was announced by TASS as First Deputy Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation Oleg Ivanov.

“Of the 24 nominations of the American Oscar, only one is awarded to foreign paintings. He said. - Therefore, it is necessary to create the Academy and the film award of the BRICS countries, where more than 40% of the world's population live, "Eurasian Oscar". Now the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation is negotiating with the national academies of these fear for establishing a film award. ”

“The idea of ​​creating the“ Eurasian Oscar ”appeared this summer as part of the Brix and SCO forums in Ufa. In 2016, when the year of cinema will be announced in Russia, there are tasks to enter the domestic cinema into the international arena. It is for this that it is necessary to create an Eurasian film academy and establish a prize, ”Ivanov said.

In addition, the first deputy chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation spoke out in favor of increasing the volume of state financing of the domestic film industry.

“From the federal budget per year, 5 billion rubles are allocated for the development of domestic cinema. This is not enough. - said Ivanov. “I would like to increase the amount of state support in order to develop regional cinema and support films rental.”
