September 4 at 18:30 - a meeting of the Mandelstam Society
The program show video materials from the archive of the Mandelstam society: Samatikha and Vladivostok, shooting 1990 and presentation of two publications:
Among the participants in the presentation, Irina Ghalkova, Ilya Danishevsky and Sergey Solovyov. After the presentation, there will be a discussion about the memorable sign “The Last Address” and the information stand about the arrest of Osip Mandelstam. Leading discussion is Pavel Nerler.
September 6 at 16:00 - “Alternative Civil Service in Russia: development history, trends and features”
Presentation of the exhibition and a lecture by the director of the human rights group “Citizen. Army. Right ”and a member of the Board of the International Society“ Memorial ”Sergey Krivenko on the history of development, trends and features of the legislative regulation of the AGS in Russia.
Russia is the first country in the world that recognized its citizens the right to a conscious rejection of military service: in the 19th century, the Russian Empire secured this right for representatives of a number of religious communities. Today in Russia, this right applies to all citizens whose beliefs are contrary to military service.
Currently, AGS is the most important institution that supports the state and society in a wide variety of areas, including healthcare, social protection and education.
Nevertheless, the institution of alternative civil service in Russia has not yet become as popular as, for example, in a number of European countries, and its development is inhibited by bureaucratic wires.
The performance of Sergei Krivenko will open a cycle of peacekeeping lectures of the Ayrena lights anti -war initiative.
September 9 at 19:00 - "Historian for the workbench." The first meeting - Theodore Shanin
The international memorial and a free historical society announce the opening of a free historical university.
As part of the free historical university in 2015-2016, monthly meetings will be held - the conversations “Historian behind the workbench” with scientists using in their work new approaches and methods acting as researchers and as organizers of science, archival and museum affairs. In the focus of these meetings, a historian and his creative laboratory, as well as important problems of today's science and the formation of a historical community.
Project leaders: Konstantin Morozov and Nikita Sokolov. The plans for conducting lectures and round tables devoted to various problems of our history and historical memory.
The Clinic cycle will be opened by Theodor Shanin, a professor of sociology of the University of Manchester, the president of the Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences, a researcher in the history of the Russian peasantry.
Meetings are planned with Pavel Uvarov, Askold Ivanchik, Boris Kolonitsky, Alexander Kamensky, Sergey Krasilnikov, Sergey Mironenko, Irina Arzantseva and other historians. The cycle is designed primarily for historians, students and graduate students of historical faculties, as well as everyone who is interested in historical science and its problems.
September 11 at 15:00-another meeting of the permanent seminar “From Censorship and Samizdat to Freedom of Press”, dedicated to the religious Samizdat in the USSR in the 1950s and 1980s
Memory of Archpriest Alexander me, killed 25 years ago.
Specific samizdat practices will be considered: Orthodox communities and groups, Baptists, Tolstoy, Jews. A discussion is assumed on the general problems associated with the spread of religious texts by various confessional groups in conditions of lack of freedom and persecution for faith.

Experience in the analysis of the correspondence of the 1960s and 70s”), Irina Gordeeva (“Religious Samizdat of Countulture”), Alexander Kravetsky (“Liturgical Samizdat, 1950s. -1980s ”), Semyon Chalk (“ Jewish religious Samizdat ”), Peter Chistyakov (“ Liturgical Samizdat in the 1940s and 1950s in Kashira ”).
