Ford will launch the production of engines in Russia

Ford Sollers will open a car manufacturing plant for cars on September 3 in Tatarstan. This was reported by TASS with reference to the representative of the company Anastasia Kozhevnikov.

The plant will begin its work in the special economic zone of Alabuga. According to Kozhevnikova, investments in the construction of the enterprise amounted to $ 275 million. It will produce 1.6-liter TI-VCT Sigma engines, which are installed in the most massive models of Ford cars, in three power options-85, 105 and 125 hp.

Ford engines at the Alabug factory will be made from domestic raw materials using components from Russian suppliers. According to Vedomosti, the company will buy aluminum from UC Rusal, from the GAZ group - the casting of crankshafts, from Sollers - casting blocks and cylinder heads, as well as indigenous bearings covers. The Kostroma Auto -Components factory will supply the piston for the new production, Bosch - the spark plugs, and Lukoil - motor oil.

The opening of their own engines production plant will allow Ford Sollers to save on cars. In addition, the plant will receive various benefits as an OEZ resident: zero property, land and transport for 10 years, reduced income tax (2–15.5% depending on the stage) and so on.

The joint venture of Ford Sollers was formed in October 2011 Ford Motor Company and Sollers. It produces passenger and commercial cars at venues in Vsevolozhsk, in Naberezhnye Chelny and Elabuga (Tatarstan).
