1945 Victory Parade in Berlin

70 years ago, on September 7, 1945, the Victory Parade was held at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin in honor of the end of World War II. Columns of troops and armored vehicles of the Berlin garrisons of the USSR, France, Great Britain and the USA passed in the parade march. British Major General Eric Nares commanded the parade, and Marshal Georgy Zhukov took over the parade, who was the initiator of it. On the podium among the commanders of the occupying forces was the American General George Patton. At the parade, 52 new Soviet IS-3 tanks were shown for the first time.
