The ruble exchange rate will continue to hesitate along with oil prices, but there will be no sharp jumps in one direction or another. According to RBC, this was stated by the head of VTB Andrei Kostin.
“Some kind of sharp jump, such as to directly panic, run and change money - no. But, of course, the volatility will continue until oil prices are stabilized. I think that the fluctuations will be one and the other, but it will be better not to twitch. He will be more healthy,” Kostin said in an interview with Russia 24.
The head of VTB emphasized the need to "move away from the dollarization" both in external calculations and "in internal life."
Meanwhile, during the evening trading on the Moscow Exchange, the ruble exchange rate was sharply weakened. Within ten minutes, the euro jumped from the mark of 76.8130 rubles to the level of 77.1480 rubles, which was recorded at 18:29. During the same time, the dollar went up from 68.81 to 69,1620 rubles.
The weakening of the ruble coincided with a sharp drop in oil prices. At the auction in London, the Brent oil quotes fell below 48 dollars per barrel, at a minimum for one barrel Brent gave $ 47.71.
