The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation will reduce the costs of restoration of cultural heritage objects by 1 billion rubles - from 13.5 billion in 2015 to 12.5 billion rubles in 2016.

“We are talking about all areas of restoration, including the overhaul of buildings that are objects of cultural heritage, which are occupied by many of our leaders. Of course, it is bad that this article of expenses by 1 billion has been reduced, this money can be done a lot, ”Pirumov said.

According to him, the reasons for the reduction in financing are "due to the economic situation."

Pirumov also said that the funds necessary for the completion of the restoration of the Novodevichy and Solovetsky monasteries were not laid down in the Ministry of Culture for 2017-2018. In particular, for completing work at the facilities of the Novodevichy Monastery, which suffered from a fire in March 2015, 2 billion rubles are not enough.

In the beginning of 2015, Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky announced a 10 percent reduction in the Ministry of Culture of the Ministry of Culture in accordance with the anti-crisis plan of the government, clarifying that the savings of budget funds will primarily affect festivals, construction and restoration.
