The European Parliament demanded that Russia are freeing citizens of Estonia and Ukraine

The European Parliament adopted a resolution with the demand to immediately release the citizens of Estonia and Ukraine held by Russia and guarantee their unhindered return to their homeland. This was reported by the press service of the bush.

The deputies also called on the Council of the Europe and the Supreme EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy "to develop a single list of officials responsible for the abduction, illegal detention and condemnation of Eston Kokhver, Nadezhda Savchenko, Oleg Sentsov and Alexander Kolchenko." It is proposed to prohibit the defendants in the list of entry into the EU and freeze their financial assets.

The European Parliament "decisively condemns the gross violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and Estonia, the illegal abnivations of the citizens of both countries for persecution in the Russian court." The resolution emphasizes that Russian courts are not competent to judge for acts committed outside the international recognized territory of Russia.

378 deputies voted for the resolution, against 111, 138 abstained.

On February 27, a deputy of the European Parliament from Lithuania, vice-president of the fraction of the alliance of liberals and democrats Pyushtryavichyus called for the European Union to immediately introduce the Savchenko list . He urged to include in the next sanctions list the names of all those who are responsible in Russia for oppression and illegal actions against the Ukrainian pilot.

On August 26, the head of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin suggested by analogy with the Magnitsky list to create a sanctions list of Ukrainians involved in the illegal retention in Russia , including Savchenko and Sentsov. “None of those in Russia who are related to these unfair decisions should feel safe,” the minister emphasized. On August 31, Klimkin said that together with European and American colleagues, he began to work on this list.

On August 26, lawyer Nikolai Polozov said that the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine is investigating criminal cases against Russian judges for the illegal deprivation of Savchenko of Liberty. The lawyer published the notifications of the Prosecutor General's Office of suspicion of the judge of the Moscow City Court Pavel Melekhin, as well as the judges of the Basmanny District Court of Moscow Arthur Karpov and Natalya Mushnikova "in illegal deprivation of the freedom of the citizen of Ukraine Savchenko N., who was committed by a group of persons, and the adoption of the judges of obviously non -legal decisions that entailed the serious consequences" in part 3 Articles 146 and part 2 of Article 375 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
