The Cheremushkinsky court of Moscow arrested until October 23 the coordinator of the Gulagu.net project Denis Soldatov, TASS reports. "The court granted the investigator’s application for the election of a preventive measure against Soldatov in the form of detention for a period of 1 month and 14 days, that is, until October 23," the press service of the court said.

On September 9, investigators of the Investigative Committee conducted searches in the apartments of Soldatov and another coordinator Gulagu.net Vladimir Osechkin. The searches took place in the case against Soldatov in part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud on an especially large scale).

Osechkin is the founder of the human rights network Gulagu.net, an expert of an open government and the Presidential Council of Human Rights, a member of the Council for the Development of Public Control under the State Duma Committee on Public Associations. Earlier, he was convicted under an economic article and conducted four years in prison.
