"The court granted the investigator’s application for the election of a preventive measure against Soldatov in the form of detention for a period of 1 month and 14 days, that is, until October 23," the press service of the court said.
On September 9, investigators of the Investigative Committee conducted searches in the apartments of Soldatov and another coordinator Gulagu.net Vladimir Osechkin. The searches took place in the case against Soldatov in part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud on an especially large scale).

According to the investigation, in 2013 Natalya Malinina, the daughter of an arrested in a criminal case, asked for helping her father. Osechkin introduced her to Soldatov, explaining that he would assist her.

Osechkin is the founder of the human rights network Gulagu.net, an expert of an open government and the Presidential Council of Human Rights, a member of the Council for the Development of Public Control under the State Duma Committee on Public Associations. Earlier, he was convicted under an economic article and conducted four years in prison.
Osechkin advocates the legalization of requisitions with families of prisoners , collaborates with United Russia and security forces, participates in attacks on independent human rights defenders, including the head of the committee against the torture of Igor Kalyapin.
