Academician Kolmogorov will be appointed head coach of the Russian national teams for swimming

The All -Russian Swimming Federation ( VFP ) recommended the candidacy of Sergei Kolmogorov for posts of the head coach of the Russian national team for swimming and swimming in open water, TASS reports. A new mentor who has to prepare teams for the Olympics for a year should now be approved by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.

Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor and Academician RAEN Kolmogorov previously led the complex scientific group of national teams of Russia.

Since 2012, Anatoly Zhuravlev worked as the head coach of the Russian national team for swimming. After the Expert Council recognized the performance of swimmers at the World Cup in Kazan unsatisfactory, the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation recommended WFP not to extend the contract with him for the Olympic season.

On Thursday, a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the VFP was held under the chairmanship of the State Duma speaker Sergei Naryshkin, which supported the decision on personnel changes in the coaching staff of national teams.

Zhuravlev will eventually become a senior coach, and its former head coach Alexei Akatiev should take a similar position in the swimming team in open water. Both specialists will prepare the nearest reserve of the national team.
