The head of the German foreign policy, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, warned the Russian authorities against independent actions in Syria, Deutsche Welle reports.
According to the minister, he hopes that the Kremlin is not interested in continuing the war in Syria. The situation can be changed only by joint actions, to allow “everyone to intervene in the affairs of Syria at their discretion,” Steinmeier noted.
Earlier, the US President said that the olive of the Russian authorities to support the President of the country Bashar al -Assad is erroneous, and the appeal of Assad for help to the Russian military indicates his fears to lose power.
On September 1, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed the presence of the Russian military in Syria, however, noting that their tasks include only a consultation with the Syrian Army Army, which the Assad government purchases from Moscow.
