Nikolai Barsukov - one of the two Russians detained on Saturday morning on the border section of the Cretaceous in the Lugansk region, said the SBU that, together with his brother Victor, a contractor of the Russian army, illegally crossed the border to buy pigs in the market. Victor Barsukov also admitted that he was detained in Ukrainian territory. Thus, both brothers denied the statement of the Russian Ministry of Defense that they were abducted on the Russian side of the border.

According to the SBU, the Barsukov brothers - natives of the village of Glubokoye, Petropavlovsky district of the Voronezh region. Both are registered there. The eldest, Victor, 25 years old. He is the castle of the 3rd platoon of the 2nd company of the motorized rifle battalion of the 6th separate tank brigade, serves in military unit No. 54096 at the village of Mulino, Nizhny Novgorod region. The youngest, Nikolai, 22 years old. He is unemployed. The military uniform without identification marks in which Nikolai Barsukov was detained belongs, according to him, to his older brother.

According to the brothers, they, together with their mother and a certain girl, arrived in the village of Chertkovo, Rostov Region, separated from the Ukrainian Cretaceous by railway tracks, in their own car. They left women on Russian territory, after which they crossed the border and went to the market.

"SBU employees continue to implement a set of operational investigative actions to establish the actual goals of the detained Russians in Ukraine," the special services said in a statement.

The day before it became known that both brothers were arrested for 15 days . As we might assume, the detainees were charged with article 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine (illegal crossing of the state border). A criminal case against violators will be instituted about whether it would be instituted.
