Chubarov called the date of the blockade of Crimea

The action of the Crimean Tatars, intending to block the border of Crimea with the Kherson region, will begin on September 20 or 21. About this, as Interfax-Ukraine reports, their leader Refat Chubarov said their leader.

The event, as noted, will be a response to a violation of the rights of the Crimean Tatars in the territory of the Peninsula controlled by Russia (as Chubarov said, “they are mocking people or people simply disappear”). Also, according to him, they decided to block the border due to the fact that "the problem of Crimea fades into the background in international negotiations."

How much the action will last, is not specified.

Chubarov announced the intention to block the border of Crimea with the Kherson region in early September. He clarified that Crimean Tatars will block trucks with Ukrainian products (in particular, food) following the peninsula.

“We believe that their occupation army is immoral (products),” Chubarov said in an interview with Ukrainian journalists. He suggested that this kind of blockade would be an effective means of pressure on Russia, adding that "we will start with the blockade of roads, and then we will reach electricity."

Refat Chubarov heads Majlis (unofficial parliament) of the Crimean Tatars. He is also a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the pro -presidential bloc Petro Poroshenko.

According to the former head of Majlis, deputy of the Rada Mustafa Gemillev, the idea of ​​the economic blockade of Crimea (which the Ukrainian authorities consider to be occupied by Russia) is supported by the President of Ukraine.

The head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov, in turn, assured that the possible termination of the supply of Ukrainian products will not have a significant impact on the food situation on the peninsula. The Deputy Minister of Industrial Policy of the region Konstantin Ravich, in turn, said that "Crimea, by and large, practically refused the products supplied from Ukraine."
