OPEC increased the forecast for the demand for its oil

The organization of oil exporters (OPEC) increased the forecast for the demand for its oil in 2016 to 30.31 million barrels per day. This is stated in the monthly report of the cartel, published on September 14. Compared to August, the current forecast for the demand for OPEC oil is increased by 190 thousand barrels per day.

In 2015, the demand for oil obtained by OPEC participants will grow by 400 thousand barrels per day (in the previous forecast - by 300 thousand) to 29.3 million barrels per day.

The OPEC also expects that in 2016, the global demand for hydrocarbons will increase by 1.29 million barrels per day - to 94.08 million. The growth forecast is slightly reduced - it was previously expected that next year it will increase by 1.34 million barrels per day.

As for 2015, the organization predicts that global oil demand will grow by 1.46 million barrels per day - up to 92.79 million. The demand for demand growth is improved by 84 thousand barrels per day. In the materials of the cartel, it is noted that the main consumers will increase the demand for oil even in conditions of moderate economic growth, mainly due to the drop in hydrocarbons.

The OPEC report also worsened the forecast for an increase in oil production in countries that are not included in the cartel, including in the USA, in 2016 - by 110 thousand barrels per day compared to the August forecast. Now it is expected that hydrocarbons in states outside OPEC will increase by 0.16 thousand barrels per day to 57.59 million barrels.

The production of OPEC countries in August 2015 amounted to 31.54 million barrels per day (with a quota of 30 million barrels). In the previous month, the OPEC states were extracted 31.53 million barrels per day.

The publication of the OPEC report did not have a significant impact on world oil prices. By the middle of the session on September 14, Brent barrel traded at $ 48.3, and WTI quotes were near $ 44.3 per barrel.
