The Central Bank announced the threat of Russian economic security due to the reform of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

The Central Bank and a number of other departments turned to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs with a written request not to deprive them of the police security from November 1, Kommersant reports . The Central Bank indicated that the absence of such security could pose a threat to the economic security of Russia.

Appeals are related to the fact that from November 1, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia intends to remove police posts from the facilities subordinate to the Ministry. This will be done due to abbreviations in the internal affairs bodies, most of which falls on the units of private security.

In his appeal, the Bank of Russia asked the Ministry of Internal Affairs to leave security at least the 30 most important objects, the activities of the department depend on the uninterrupted work. The bank believes that private security structures will not be able to ensure the “full reliability of the safety of objects”, and its absence “in conditions of difficult criminogenic situation ... creates unacceptable risks that affect the national and economic security of Russia”.

Currently, police officers are guarding computing centers that ensure the functioning of payment systems, cash register centers, which stores the gold and foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank, reserve funds and almost the entire supply of precious metals.

The Federal Agency for Water Resources (Rosvodresursu), in contact with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, asked to maintain police security at hydraulic structures. The department fears sabotage and attacks on objects. The most concern is the “complex criminal situation” in the Southern Federal District, close to the combat area in the east of Ukraine. The department warned the Ministry of Internal Affairs that in the case of an emergency, hundreds of thousands of people would suffer at hydraulic structures, and the account of the dead would go to tens of thousands.

The imprisonment of the safety of their objects was expressed by the Ministry of Culture. The head of the ministry, Vladimir Medinsky, in an appeal to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, wrote that some museum-reserve museums, due to remote location, will not be possible to protect with technical means, and attracting private security forces will lead to “uncontrolled expansion of the circle of persons and organizations that are detailed about the security system of museums”.

Earlier it was reported that due to the reform of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Science intends to create its own power structure. The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Emergencies, the Ministry of Defense and a number of other departments currently have the right to their own protection.
