Declared a short list of the Buker Prize

Today, September 15, in London, a short list of the 2015 Buker Prize was published.

In it, the jury of the prize took away 6 out of 13 novels presented in Longlist .

The 2015 Buker Prize Boker Boker:

• Marlon James (Jamaica) - “A Brief History of Seven Killings”;
• Tom McCarthy (Great Britain) - "Satin Island";
• Chigosi Obiom (Nigeria) - “The Fishermen”;
• Sanjiv Sakhota (Great Britain) - “The Year of the Runaway”;
• Anne Tyler (USA) - “A spool of blue thread”;
• Hanya Yanagikhara (USA) - "A Little Life".

One of the applicants of this season of Boker was previously entered the short list of the prize. In 2010, the novel “C” of the British writer Tom McCarthy was selected into it.

For the first time, a novel written by a representative of Jamaica is included in the short list: “Brief History of Seven Murders” ( a Brief History of Seven Killings ) Marlon James, on the attempt on Bob Marley on December 3, 1976.

The laureate of the Buker Prize will be announced on October 13.
