Hearing on the merits of the case of the Ukrainian prisoner, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Nadezhda Savchenko will begin in the Donetsk City Court of the Rostov Region on September 22. This was announced on his twitter as a hostage lawyer Mark Feigin. The beginning of the hearings at 11:00.

Judge Leonid Stepanenko also set the dates of the three subsequent meetings. They will be held in a row on September 29 and 30 and October 1. The beginning of each of these meetings is also at 11:00.

Savchenko’s defense filed a motion to consider the case with a collegium of three judges. Stepanenko satisfied this request. In addition, lawyers petitioned the interrogation in the court of the former “head of the LPR” Valery Bolotov. What decision was made on this petition, Feigin did not specify.

The lawyer also wrote that the defense intends to ask about the exclusion from the case of a number of evidence. Whether Stepanenko satisfied this petition, Feigin, however, did not report either.

Earlier on Tuesday, Stepanenko at the request of the prosecutor extended Savchenko for six months . Lawyers insisted on changing a preventive measure to any detention not related to the content, including consular guarantees. They recalled that Savchenko enjoys immunity as a delegate PACE. However, the judge ignored this argument.

The defense also filed a motion to return the case to the prosecutor's office. Lawyers drew the attention of Stepanenko to the incompleteness and the one -sidedness of the investigation, as well as for errors of indictment. Nevertheless, this petition was also rejected. In reality, Savchenko was captured by the militants of the LPR even before shelling, during which Korneluk and Voloshin were killed, and was illegally taken to Russia, where the case was fabricated against her.

On August 21, the Rostov Regional Court refused to transfer the consideration of the Savchenko case to Moscow . The prosecutor opposed the transfer. "The jurisdiction of the case was determined based on the fact that one of the three crimes was committed by Savchenko in the Russian Federation, and the case was sent to Donetsk at the crime scene. Only 17 out of 70 people to be called to the court live in Moscow," the prosecutor said.

Lawyer Savchenko Ilya Novikov motivated the need to transfer the case to Moscow with large costs, including on the road, which will amount to 105,508 rubles.
