Kashapov was detained at home on December 28, 2014. The 57-year-old activist is charged with part 1 of Article 282 (excitement of hatred or enmity) and part 2 of Article 280.1 of the Criminal Code (public calls for separatism via the Internet). As far as is known, this is the first case under Article 280.1, which came to the court. During the conclusion, Kashapov developed renal failure.
The publication is charged with a publication on a personal page on VKontakte in July - December 2014 of three texts and one demotivator. We are talking about the image "where Russia is - there are tears and death" , placed on the social network on July 6, and about the texts "protect Ukraine and the entire Turkic world!" (November 23), "Yesterday - Hitler and Danzig, today - Putin and Donetsk!" (November 26) and "Crimea and Ukraine will be free from the invaders!" (December 1). At the same time, the author of the first of the texts mentioned is not an activist himself, but his twin brother Nafis Kashapov is also a well -known public figure who has been living in exile in Warsaw since 2005.
As stated in the conclusion of a comprehensive psychological-linguistic and political study, which is based on the accusation, Kashapov’s publications “contain statements and calls of varying degrees of registration, modeling the language of enmity and aiming at inciting hatred between groups allocated by mixed attitude-nationality, accommodation in a certain territory, attitude towards power,” as well as “psychological signs of information aimed at initiating the growth of ranging ranges (enmity) regarding representatives of the category of “they/aggressor” (“new unrecognized authorities of the peninsula”, “Russian punishers”, “Vladimir Putin”, “Russia”, “Russians”, “Russians”), allocated by a mixed basis. ”
Kashapov does not deny the fact of publication of texts and demotivator . Kamalov’s lawyer noted that there was no crime in Kashapov’s actions. “This is his political views, beliefs,” the lawyer explained.
During his stay in the pre-trial detention center-1 in Kazan, the Politzek twice declared a hunger strike. The first time - in January - he thus protested against the arbitrariness of the authorities, the factory of criminal case and arrest. The second time - in March - Kashapov was starving, achieving compliance with the rights of Muslim prisoners. He took off both the first and second hunger strike a few weeks after the beginning.
