A petition for the resignation of the head of the Odessa Regional State Administration, Mikheil Saakashvili, has appeared on the official website of the President of Ukraine. “For more than three months of work as governor of the Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili has not fulfilled any of his promises,” the text of the petition says. It is noted that during the three months of the governor’s work, residents of the region did not see positive changes. The fight against corruption and reforms are carried out only in words, the text notes.

In addition, the author of the document accuses the head of the regional administration of the absence of investors whom he promised to bring to the region, and also calls his fight against the bureaucracy “PR.” The only merit of Mr. Saakashvili in the petition is called “self-promotion”. “In terms of the number of mentions not only in the local, but also in the all-Ukrainian press, only the president and the prime minister can compete with Saakashvili,” the text says. The authors of the petition also expressed distrust of the recent personnel changes, in particular the hiring of Maria Gaidar.

Let us recall that earlier a petition on the website of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine for the appointment of the head of the Odessa Regional State Administration Mikheil Saakashvili as Prime Minister of the country received 25 thousand signatures necessary for its official consideration. “The demand to appoint Mikheil Saakashvili as Prime Minister of Ukraine. Let people finally carry out reforms in Ukraine. Stop tolerating corruption and delaying reforms,” the text of the petition says. According to the regulations, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is now obliged to officially consider it.

On May 30, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed a decree appointing former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili as head of the Odessa Regional State Administration. The head of the Radical Party of Ukraine, Oleg Lyashko, opposed the appointment of Mikheil Saakashvili as governor. According to him, the Odessa governor-reformer had to be found among 45 million Ukrainians.
