Presentation of the Book of Memory "Killed in Katyn"
On September 17, on the 76th anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Poland, Memorial (Karetny Ryad, 5/10) will host the presentation of the Book of Memory "Murdered in Katyn". Start at 18:00.

The book "Murdered in Katyn" was prepared by the Polish program of the "International Memorial" (leader Alexander Guryanov) together with the "Karta" Center (Warsaw).
The publication contains brief biographies of 4,415 Polish citizens held in the Kozelsky camp of the NKVD, shot and buried in the Katyn Forest in the spring of 1940. As noted in "Memorial", each of these certificates contains comprehensive information for the rehabilitation of the executed Poles.
Funding for the publication of the book was raised online.
“The Russian state, which formally recognized by the decision of the State Duma that the Katyn crime was an act of arbitrariness of a totalitarian state and was committed on the direct orders of Stalin and other Soviet leaders, categorically refuses to recognize each victim individually as victims,” Alexander Guryanov explained to Grany. “In 2004 year, the criminal investigation into the Katyn massacre was terminated, and its results were classified.
