Activists of the “Union of Transnistrians of Ukraine” decided to support the Crimean Tatars campaign to block the border of the peninsula with the Kherson region. This was announced by the "New Region" with reference to the leader of the organization Oleg Khvoshchevsky.
Support will be expressed in the fact that activists will block the border of Ukraine (in the Odessa region) with an unrecognized Transnistria. Their associates, according to Khvoshchevsky, meanwhile, will block the border with Transnistria from Moldova.
As the leader of the organization specified, the Kuchurgan checkpoint will be blocked from Ukraine, and from Moldova the Bender.
Whether the blockade will take place on the same conditions as the Crimean Tatars (they plan to block trucks, but pass cars), is not specified.
The Promotion of the Crimean Tatars to block the border is scheduled for September 20. Its organizers plan to block three roads along which trucks with various goods (in particular, with food) go to Crimea from the Kherson region). Explaining the meaning of the event, the leader of the Tatars Refat Chubarov said that "immorally provide (products) their occupation army." He suggested that the action will become an effective means of pressure on Russia.
The “Right Sector” recognized as extremist in Russia also stated the readiness to support the blockade.
The leadership of Crimea, in turn, claims that the possible termination of supplies of products from Ukraine will not affect the food situation on the peninsula.
