The Prosecutor General’s Office was asked to check the rain

The State Duma deputy from United Russia and the leader of the Rodina party, Alexei Zhuravlev, sent to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chaika request with a request to verify the compliance with the Rain TV channel legislation and license conditions. This was reported on the official website of "Homeland".

“The broadcasting volume of the TV channel, according to the license, is 168 hours a week. At the same time, according to the same license, it does not imply the placement of other television companies on the air of the content. However, in fact, the rain television channel systematically traces the products of the British BBC and the Russian BBC news service, as well as the German Deutsche Welle television company, ”the report said.

Zhuravlev suggested that Article 31 (license for broadcasting) of the Law “On Mass Media” is violated in this way. He added that on the air of the Sobchak program dated September 2, 2015, businessman German Sterligov “insulted Jews on the basis of a religion”, and also presented the Russian Orthodox Church as “a satanic organization and the devil’s house”.

In addition, the deputy noted that the Rain Studio Studio from December 2014 to February 2015 "was at the address of the regional director of the TC N. Sindeeva, that is, in the living room." Zhuravlev noted that this entails administrative responsibility for the use of housing for other purposes, as well as for violation of sanitary and epidemiological requirements for the operation of residential premises.

In December 2014, Roskomnadzor expressed claims to Rain. Then it turned out that the actual address of broadcasting of the channel does not coincide with the address indicated in the license.
