Savchenko, convicted of 24 years in prison in the case of Primorsky partisans, was delivered to serving a sentence in the LIU-1 of the Federal Penitentiary Service in the Altai Territory. This was reported on the page of the Primorsky partisans community.
LIU -1 is a medical correctional institution, which contains convicts, patients with alcoholism and drug addiction. Meanwhile, Savchenko was absolutely healthy, actively playing sports, according to his father, never drank or smoked. Why he was placed in LIU-1 is unknown.
On May 21, the Supreme Court, having examined the appeals of the convicts, canceled the sentences to two defendants in the case - Alexei Nikitin and Vadim Kovtun, who received a life -long period and 8 years of 2 months of strict regime. It was noted that the verdict of the jury about their guilt of the murder of four alleged drug dealers "is contradictory and obscure." The Supreme Court also reduced the deadlines for three more convicts, excluding the same episodes from the prosecution. The appellate instance, sentenced to life imprisonment by Alexander Kovtun and Vladimir Ilyutikov, appointed 25 and 24 years of strict regime, respectively. The term of Maxim Kirillov was reduced from 22 to 19 years of strict regime. The episodes of the case excluded from the prosecution were sent for a new consideration to the Primorsky Kraisud. Nikitin and Vadim Kovtun chose a preventive measure in the form of detention. All five are contained in the Vladivostok pre -trial detention center.
The Supreme Court also reduced Savchenko’s sentence for one year, up to 24 years in a maximum regime. However, unlike the rest of the defendants in the case, an attack on the alleged drug dealers was not charged with him. Savchenko’s sentence entered into force.
On April 28, 2014, the judge of the Primorsky Kraisud Dmitry Grishchenko handed the Primorsky partisans a sentence on the basis of a jury verdict.
In addition to the mentioned episode, the jury found four partisans - Alexander Kovtun, Ilyutikov, Kirillov and Savchenko - in the murders of two policemen in order to seize their weapons.
In addition, three partisans - Ilyutikov, Kirillov and Savchenko - were found guilty of shelling the traffic police inspectors on May 29, 2010 on the Spassk -Dalniy -Bartholomeevka highway in the Yakovlevsky district. Alexander Kovtun, who was also charged with this episode, justified the jury.
At the same time, he and Ilyutikov were considered guilty of the wound of two police officers on June 11, 2010, when the security officials captured in Ussuriysk occupied by the partisans.
In addition, five defendants - everything except Vadim Kovtun - are found guilty in a number of robberies, thefts and abductions of people. They are considered members of the gang. According to the assessors, Alexander Kovtun was the organizer of the gang, and Ilyutikov, Kirillov, Nikitin and Savchenko - its participants. With Vadim Kovtun, the charges of banditry were removed for unprovenness. Meanwhile, things under the 209th article of the Criminal Code (banditry) were not aroused against partisans, so according to the Code of Criminal Procedure, the investigation on it could not be carried out. Judge Grishchenko, however, during the process did not consider this violation by the basis for returning the case to the prosecutor's office.
The jury justified the partisans according to several episodes of theft and robberies. Also, the assessors admitted their guilt in the robbery and arson of the territorial police station at the Bartholomeevka station in the Yakovlevsky district on May 25, 2010.
Alexander Kovtun and Ilyutikov were captured by security forces on June 11, 2010 in Ussuriysk. They, together with two other partisans - Alexander Sweet and Andrei Sukhorada, were blocked in an apartment in a three -story residential building. Sweet and Sukhorada died during the assault; According to the official version, they shot themselves. Kirillov and Savchenko were detained by one by one.
The trial of partisans lasted since January 2013. The jury collegium for consideration of the case was formed on the sixth attempt.
