2005. Simon Wizenthal died

Ten years ago, on September 20, 2005, at the age of 96, Simon Wizenthal, an Austrian Jew who survived the Holocaust and devoted the rest of his life to the hunting criminals, died. In 1947, he created a center of Jewish documentation in Linz, later transferred to Vienna. With the assistance of the organization of Wizenthal, a number of well -known criminals were found, including Adolf Eichmann, who headed the subdivision on the “final solution of the Jewish question”, and Franz Shtangl, the commandant of the death camp of Treblink and Sobibor.
