In Yekaterinburg last Sunday, September 20, civil activists from the Yekaterinburg for Freedom group held a promotion for fair elections.
Residents of the city were offered to fill out ballots for voting, questions were divided into jokes and serious. For example, among the issues of the “comic” ballot, the voters were proposed to express their opinion on the possibility of Putin’s approval by the lifelong emperor and the replacement of deputies in the Duma with professional clowns, and among the issues of “serious” ballot, activists found out the opinion of the townspeople in the authorities in the authorities and about the defense of the opposition parties for the elections in the regions of Russia.
The initiator of the action Sergei Zykov , a representative of the "Party December 5", talked about how the idea appeared to hold a promotion in this form:
- We heard that promotions will be held throughout the country for fair elections. There was an idea to support this initiative so that Yekaterinburg also “sounded” as part of this action. But, since we had no elections here and there was no way to collect a large number of people, we decided to show the maximum “creativity” and make such comic elections.
Questions for ballots were selected by voting in social networks. Sergei Zykov noted that issues that could discredit the very idea of elections were discarded. As a result, two ballots were formed, five questions each. The task of the action, according to him, was to attract the attention of citizens to problems accompanying the election process in Russia.
- Inappropriate opposition parties, narcking during voting, unequal admission to the media - well -known problems that have already been discussed many times. But, I think, it is important to convey it to people, because the majority does not pay attention to it or simply does not even hear about it, ”said Sergey Zykov.
The action participant Olga Vikovshinina , who distributed leaflets, believes that citizens should first change their attitude to the elections:
-We want people to be more serious about the elections, because they should still think that in politics they need to participate. It is necessary to take part so that the decision is not made by someone: a party that will decide something in our country, or the person who represents the party.
According to Sergey Zykov, the townspeople reacted to the proposal to take part in the action very differently:
- Some say "Chur me, chur me, I do not want anything like that", some take a leaflet, read. Someone comes up, someone is leaving. The whole spectrum can be observed.
Those who filled the proposed ballots expressed completely different opinions about the elections, although they agreed in one thing - they personally did not believe in the elections.
The girl, who picked up the playful mood of the organizers, said that, in her opinion, people in the power “securely fixed” and would not let someone else go there-therefore it is better to come to the polls and take away the ballot with him, “so that he would not go for United Russia. The last time she went to the polls a few years ago:
- When the president was chosen. Then I was still a fool and voted for some "other candidate." Now I would have acted in a completely different way - I would just take out the ballot.
A man, "with humor and understanding" who took the proposal to take a fate in the action, said that he always goes to the elections:
- I do not believe the institute of elections in Russia, but if there is my word and the word more hundred, thousands, millions of people - I think that we will still come to power. People do not want to vote, believe that everything is already predetermined for them. This is very bad, you have to deal with it. When everyone comes to the polls, it can move something.
The action took place in Yekaterinburg simultaneously at two sites. In total, just over 100 people took part. According to the preliminary results of the "voting", summed up by the organizers, Vladimir Putin was still not "appointed" by the emperor.
