Siriza won the elections in Greece

The coalition of the radical left forces of Siriz, led by the former Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras, won the early parliamentary elections. This is evidenced by the data published on the website of the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In total, 8 parties passed into the parliament. Siriza gained 35.47% of the vote according to data published after processing 99.44% of the ballots. The parties got 145 seats in the parliament of 300. Its main competitor - the newly -centric party "New Democracy" - received 28.09% of votes and 75 seats. The third place was taken by the Golden Dawn with 6.99% of the vote (18 seats).

The coalition block of the levocentric pasket with the "democratic left" (Dimar) received 6.28% of the vote and 17 seats. The Communist Party of Greece gained 5.55% of the vote (15 seats). 4.09% of voters voted for the centrist “river”, it will receive 11 seats in parliament.

“Independent Greeks” (Anal), which scored 3.69%, received 10 seats. Siriza and “Independent Greeks” will jointly have 155 deputies in parliament, which is provided by the majority, since the government requires at least 151 deputy in a 300-seater single-fed legislative body. The Union of Centers has 9 seats and 3.43% of the vote. The Popular Unity party, created by the deputies who left Siriz, did not fall into the parliament, and did not overcome the three percent barrier.

Early parliamentary elections in Greece have already become second since the beginning of the year. Based on the results of the previous vote, the leftist forces led by Tsipras, who became the prime minister of the country, defeated. After the adoption of agreements with creditors in the summer, some of the deputies left the ruling coalition, and therefore a new vote was required.
