"Island of the 90s": Find yourself

I do not want to start a benevolent "ah, what beautiful bright faces were on this day in the park." There were different faces - not only beautiful and bright. But, which is much more pleasant, mostly meaningful. And also - there were a lot of them.

How much? We do not know, we did not have the goal of counting and presenting someone “involved in the event”. We did not hold an event, but a city park festival. The “Island of the 90s” on this day, according to various estimates, visited from 15,000 to 20,000. Not so much on the scale of Moscow-but it is enough for federal state television to call it a “full house” and announces that there are “some forces” behind this.

Everyone made his discoveries on the Island. The biggest for us - however, federal television also noted this - was that the vast majority of our guests are young people.

We understood that on this Sunday you have where to go - from the marathon to the rally. We assumed that music and vintage fashion will most likely attract you more than discussions and round tables. We were afraid that our lecturers would get less attention than the musicians of the Auktsyon. But we were mistaken.

From noon until late in the evening, you firmly and massively occupied our lecture, discussion, exhibition and film sites. Everything is without exception. You suffered overlays and delay, inevitable with so many guests and events. You did not notice the rain and continued to listen to our lecturers. You did not let them go for a long time and asked questions - not so much about our past as about your present and future. There were not enough sitting and standing places, there was not enough time for answers, there was not enough break to run from one site to another - but everything was definitely in order of attention.

Thank you. To everyone who gives himself labor to think about the past and present. To everyone whom the flash mob with photographs of the 90s made me recall not only youth, but also the fact that in his youth there are hopes, ideals and will. Everyone who came to the “Island of the 90s” is no matter with skepticism or enthusiastically.
