The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, will transfer a hair of the Prophet Muhammad for eternal storage to the Moscow Cathedral Mosque. This is stated in a message on the official website of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims with reference to the words of the head of the Council of Muftis, Ravil Gainutdin.

According to the mufti, the shrine, placed in a special capsule and protected by armored glass, will be available for viewing by visitors to the mosque on special occasions. According to Gainutdin, Kadyrov promised to deliver the relic to Moscow.

Kadyrov announced his decision to transfer the Muslim shrine to the new mosque on September 23. “I, as the Guardian of the great relics of the Messenger of Allah (saw), decided to transfer the hair of our Prophet (saw) to the mosque for eternal storage. This will happen in a solemn atmosphere in compliance with the relevant standards,” he wrote on his Instagram . The shrine was given to Kadyrov as a gift from Uzbekistan.

On September 23, the Moscow Cathedral Mosque opened in the capital. It was erected on the site of a historical mosque , demolished in 2011, near the Olimpiysky sports complex and the Prospekt Mira metro station. The mosque became the largest in Europe. It can accommodate up to 10 thousand parishioners. $170 million was spent on the construction of the mosque.

As RBC found out , most of the funds were invested by billionaires Suleiman Kerimov, Mikhail Gutseriev, as well as the Turkish government.
