Employees of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation began checking the arena where in mid -August activists of the Orthodox movement "God's will" arranged a pogrom. Their leader Dmitry Tsorionov, known as Enteo, is currently serving ten days of administrative arrest, he was found guilty of petty hooliganism (part 1 of Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). A criminal case was also instituted on the fact of the pogrom - under the article “Destruction or damage to cultural values” (243 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
During the test of the Manege, investigators will have to establish whether there are sculptor Vadim Sidur in the works of sculptor, who attracted the attention of near -church activists, signs of arousing of hatred, as well as humiliation of a person or group of persons according to the grounds of attitude to religion. It is reported by The Art Newspaper Russia with reference to the head of the press service of the arena Elena Karneeva.
In an interview with Interfax, Karneeva clarified that the first investigation was held on September 15. “The Investigative Committee really began our audit of funds, in particular, Vadim Sidur's works. The first audit was held in the arena on Friday,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
Thus, it is possible that another criminal case will be instituted. Representatives of "God's will" claimed that Sidur's work offend the feelings of believers (148 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The Tver court of Moscow arrested Enteo on September 22. Prior to this, two other participants in the pogrom were fined for a thousand rubles each, and the third was arrested for five days. All of them were also found guilty of petty hooliganism.
The incident in the Manege occurred on August 14. On this day, the exhibition “Sculptures, which we do not see”, dedicated to the activities of the art association “Less”, which were created in 1954, created sculptors Vladimir Lemport, Vadim Sidur and Nikolai Silis, opened there. Several activists, led by Enteo, broke inside and damaged several exhibits. The attackers explained their actions by the fact that the presented works insult the feelings of believers.
According to the leader of God's will, the exhibition “depicted several versions of crucifixions, while Christ does not have a looting bandage and the genitals are depicted.” He cited several more examples of work displayed: in one, “instead of a face, a terrible alien face is depicted instead of a face,” and in the other, “the cross is wrapped in the supporter and pierces it, creating a female chest”.
According to the police, the damage caused to four exhibits of the exhibition amounted to about 196 thousand rubles. Enteo himself claimed that they did not bring any damage to the exhibition of the action of "God's will". Representatives of the arena estimated the damage from the actions of "Orthodox activists" more than a million rubles.
