In the elections of the Governor of the Irkutsk Region, the candidate from the Communist Party, State Duma deputy Sergei Levchenko won .

The head of the regional election commission Eduar Devitsky told reporters that the final protocol will be signed on September 30. Officially, the voting results will be published on October 2

Earlier it was reported that Levchenko gained more than 56 percent of votes, ahead of the current head of the region, candidate from United Russia, Sergey Eroshchenko, who received almost 41 and a half percent of the vote.

Irkutsk region is the only region where the current governor did not win on a single voting day on September 13, and on Sunday the second round of elections took place.
