Edward Snowden started Twitter

Former American intelligence officer Edward Snowden started a Twitter account.

At the time of this writing, Snowden had 20,000 followers. He himself subscribed to only one account - the US National Security Agency.

The American authorities put Snowden on the wanted list on charges of espionage. He crossed through Hong Kong to Russia, where he spent about a month in the Sheremetyevo transit zone, after which he received temporary asylum in the Russian Federation.
