The regional court upheld the decision in the case “UFSSP v. Alexander Lando”

The Saratov Regional Court completed the consideration of the appeal against the decision of the Frunzensky District Court, filed by the regional FSSP. The bailiffs sought to declare illegal the refusal to satisfy their civil claim against the Chairman of the Public Chamber, Alexander Lando, and the press organ of the OP “Voice of the People” for the protection of honor, dignity and business reputation. The judicial panel for civil cases, chaired by Olga Demina, refused to order a linguistic examination “for the purpose of analyzing the semantic content of Lando’s statements,” as requested by the plaintiff, and also left the decision of the trial court unchanged and the appeal without satisfaction. A similar decision was made regarding the private complaint of the Federal Bailiff Service against the decision of the Frunzensky District Court, which decided to recover legal costs from the bailiffs. Let us remind you that the reason for the claims from the bailiffs was the information voiced by him at a meeting of the Council of the Public Chamber of the Saratov Region on March 4. In particular, the social activist said that the Federal Bailiff Service carries out only “25–27 percent” of proceedings, and is also inactive in the case of the demolition of a multi-level parking lot on Dzerzhinsky Street. The bailiffs who appealed to the court of first instance demanded a public refutation of information that, from their point of view, was untrue. However, the judge of the Frunzensky District Court, Elena Korogodina, considered the claims of the Federal Bailiff Service to the social activist and the media to be unfounded.
