Meyerhold (ZIM) in Moscow will be the premiere of the play “In the one more often”-the results of the half-year work of “Composer Laboratory No. 2”, director Viktor Ryzhakov and composer Sergey Nevsky, in which the director of Tsima and the Moscow ensemble of modern music participated.
The performance created by four composers and five directors was based on the story of Akutagawa Ryunoske about the dead samurai and the film by Akira Kurosava “Rasomon” (1950).
The task of the composers was to understand the logic of stage work; The task of the directors is to learn how to listen to music, adopt the skills of composition and apply them in work on the theater stage.
The performance “In the threshold” consists of five parts. Each director paired with the composer represents his vision of history. Director Alexei Shavlov works with the composer Marina Poleukhina, Daniil Chashchin with Alexander Chernyshko, director George Surkov with Arman Gushchyan, Nikolai Berman with Alexei Sysoev. The music for the final part of the performance put by Talgat Batalov was written by Chernyshkov and Poleukhin.
“The result was a performance, similar to a movie, a theater production and a concert of academic music at the same time. A lot of video, a lot of text, a lot of complex musical instruments (in addition to the classic piano and cello). On the stage, a whole orchestra and one absolutely naked actress (not the whole performance, however-but one scene is for sure), ”Tsima press service said.
The presenting and the last presentation of the performance “In more often” will be held on November 14th.
