In Adygea, Ecologist Valery Brinikh, chairman of the regional branch of the All -Russian Society for the Conservation of Nature, was charged with accompanying extremist activities. A preventive measure was chosen in the form of a non -departure subscription. According to the investigation, this was expressed in the fact that he "provided unidentified persons with aiding in the spread of information aimed at humiliation of human dignity in relation to a person or group of persons according to the grounds of nationality and origin, creating extremist material." The case under the article on the humiliation of dignity (part 1 of article 282 of the Criminal Code) was initiated in December 2014, the reason was the publication on the site “For Krasnodar” of the “Silence of the Yagnit” about the contamination of the nature of the Teke region with the waste of the Kiev-Zhuraki AIC (the founder of the company, which belongs to the Karachay-Cherkessia Vyacheslav tree).

A few days after the initiation of the case, the article was recognized as extremist material. According to the lawyer Alexander Popkov, representing the interests of the ecologist, the main reason for recognizing the text to extremist could be his last phrase, which refers to Voltaire’s thought that God helps those battalions that shoot better. “The word“ shoot ”under the ban, a terrible word. “Battalions” is also a terrible word. And Voltaire is generally a freedom, ”Popkov is ironic.

Brinchi for a long time remained in the status of a suspect. According to the lawyer, the investigation has no evidence that it was he who wrote the article, but it is argued that he helped to spread it to "unidentified persons."

It is not clear from the decision on the charges, whose virtue has humiliated the article. The lawyer says that at first the investigators said that Brinchi offends “officials”. The national motive was also discussed. The statement of the Republican prosecutor’s office, which asked to recognize the article by extremist materials, said that “according to the conclusions of the linguistic study conducted by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Krasnodar Territory, dated 09/15/2014 No. 17/7-119 and in the presented text of the article“ Silence of the Yagnis ”there are statements in which a group of persons united by nationality is negatively evaluated-a group united by nationality. Adyghets (indicated in the text as “panties”, “persons who do not have their own dignity”, “lambs”). ” The author of the text complains about the passivity of the local population, which refuses to defend its interests. The lawyer notes that Brinchi did not have the goal of humiliating the Adygians: "He, on the contrary, spoke for them, went to them." The prosecutor’s statement also states that the article contains “statements that, according to the semantic understanding, containing the motivation for the use of actions that are probably related to violence, Adyghe resident in relation to a group of persons -“ representatives of local state authorities ”.

According to Popkov, the fact of complication by Brinich "is allegedly confirmed by the data of the phonoscopic examination: he talked on the phone about the posting of this article on the Internet." However, since the article was posted on the Internet before the initiation of the case and before the recognition of its extremist, it turns out that the ecologist’s phone was listened to before that. "The question arises: on what basis did they listen to it?" - says the lawyer.
